Studio Shoot with Modee and Tapai
|
|
To practise what I have learned in the last studio workshop, some friends and I decided to have a 'practical' studio shoot. The models are Modee and Tapai, theatre/stage play actors. Here are some pics. Note that the color is quite dull as I edited the pics for printing setting as the models need to print their pics. Too lazy to convert them to web setting when uploading here...pardon the laziness. and oh yeah, the color differs from one to one as i am experimenting with different mood, so the actors can choose which they prefer C&C are welcomed, thanks

Before the real race - teaser race
the blue car swerved and turned
the blue car got towed
The Parade
Preparation for Malaysian Team
Malaysian Racer - Fairuz Fauzy
Other teams
The Race
the sharpest panning i got, not sharp enough
hehe, since my panning is not sharp i create a fake panning here using Photoshop

Rock band - BOZZ
|
|
| Quote: | This is the rock band - BOZZ. New in the market. I get to shoot 'em coz my bro-in-law is their friend. lucky me. they will make their album cover with the photos we shoot. Hopefully some of mine will be in hehe.
This shots are edited to get the dimmed and under mode. As they are looking for sombre mood for their cover. I enjoyed the session, and their music is great. |

The model was Maria Halim, a lovely and cute Indonesian girl Thanks to her beauty and talent PLUS the teacher, Mr Zamrud's guidance I got to shoot some quite satisfactory photos. Critics and Comments are welcomed |

Kisah Gadis, di KLPAC, Sentul. 22 Oktober 2008
|
|
| Quote: | Yesterday I went to watch a show - Kisah Gadis at KLPAC Sentul. I love watching theater, live performance always beats shows on cinema or TV. This play consists of two shows, Mangli and Gadis Jalan Burmah. Brilliant performances, great actors.
This is not my first time shooting stage play which normally forbid Flash light, beeping camera and other devices that might outperform the performance. The challenge in shooting stage play is the extremely low light and the colorful lighting from the spotlights.
And I am yet to overcome these
These are the shots that I manage to take yesterday with my Nikon D50 + 50mm F1.4 lense, minus flash Working with prime lense limits the distance in shooting as I can't move much in theatre. Some photos are too reddish or yellowish due to the spotlights, and most are underexposed. These photos are tweaked in Photoshop - level, color balance, hue & saturation to try to "repair" the flaws in the shots but these are just what I managed I hope to take better shots next time |
too red
too yellow
too yellow
so-so
ok
lighting is nice, but camera shake - blur
underexposed
ok-ok
too unsaturated

See what Photoshop can do...
|
|
| Quote: | Haha, I was bored all the week during this Raya Hols...didnt go anywhere, friends all balik kampung or visiting their relatives (unlike us who dont celebrate much )...This morning, due to boredom, I surfed shutterasia and found a simple Photoshop challenge by one of the pro there, Mr. Zamrud. http://zamrudphotography.blogspot.com.
I was like, what the heck, I have nothing to do anyway. So, here it is ...I'm quite satisfied with the result although I can't wait to view it from office's PC next Monday as normally the color will be a bit off when i edit photos in my laptop. Took me about 30-45 minutes to do this. See what photoshop can do? So girls, don't believe all you see in the mag, you know, the beautiful models and all
I hope I win coz I wanna go to his portrait photography class and also get a monitor calibrator software during the class...so i will not fret when i edit stuff with my laptop again
oh yeah, who wanna enter the contest can go here:

Chocolate Chip Nestum Cookies
|
|
| Quote: | Today I bake another set of cookies, Chocolate Chip Nestum Cookies
Well, I figured that its useless to post all the baking step by step photos each time cause they look the same...Today's entry will be more like a poster or magazine layout display, with text. At least I did use some of the knowledge I gained from the food photography class I had earlier this year.
Oh yeah, credits to Laureen whom I randomly found her recipe on the net for this healthy choc chip nestum cookies. Those who doesn't have sweet tooth gonna love these cookies... no white sugar used, just brown sugar and some honey. You can view her recipe here:
http://eatandbehappy.wordpress.com/2007/03/05/chocolate-chip-nestum-cookies-2/#comment-1135
But I suggest you to eliminate the salt or just add a pinch cause mine taste a lil' bit salty. Other than that all are great. Watch the cooking time too as I believe it differ from oven to oven. I had to bake mine 6-10 minutes instead of 12-15 as recommended.
Well, enjoy! ...oh, C&C are welcomed on the photography. |

Let's make some oatmeal cookies!
|
|
| Quote: | Yes! after quite sometime "resting" from taking any 'intentional photographs' (excluding snapshots of holidays or so)...I finally manage to beat the lazy bug today by having yet another set of baking pictures!!! Thanks to Chef Nizam because after seeing what he did on his blog http://sayasukamasak.wordpress.com/, taking pictures of food that he cooked and share them on the blog, including recipes!! Chef Nizam loves photography, I'm almost certain that he loves cooking for fun, and he channel that into his blog. Me? lazing around doing nothing...
Well, thanks to raya holiday boredom too, it contributes in this particular baking photoshoot...well, unlike other families who always welcome raya aidilfitri holiday, and busy-ing themselves preparing for Syawal, my family tend to set back and relax during Raya Hols...practically we didn't celebrate much - thus the boredom...hehe, whatever it is, this is what I did today
