<title>See what Photoshop can do...</title>
<description>Haha, I was bored all the week during this Raya Hols...didnt go anywhere, friends all balik kampung or visiting their relatives (unlike us who dont celebrate much :p)...This morning, due to boredom, I surfed shutterasia and found a simple Photoshop challenge by one of the pro there, Mr. Zamrud. http://zamrudphotography.blogspot.com.

I was like, what the heck, I have nothing to do anyway. So, here it is :D...I'm quite satisfied with the result although I can't wait to view it from office's PC next Monday as normally the color will be a bit off when i edit photos in my laptop. Took me about 30-45 minutes to do this. See what photoshop can do? So girls, don't believe all you see in the mag, you know, the beautiful models and all :P

I hope I win coz I wanna go to his portrait photography class and also get a monitor calibrator software during the class...so i will not fret when i edit stuff with my laptop again :-D

oh yeah, who wanna enter the contest can go here:
http://www.shutterasia.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19728

Haha, after being enlightened of what Photoshop really can do on my first try, i play again at night. And here it is :D

<title>Chocolate Chip Nestum Cookies</title>
<description>Today I bake another set of cookies, Chocolate Chip Nestum Cookies :-D

Well, I figured that its useless to post all the baking step by step photos each time cause they look the same...Today's entry will be more like a poster or magazine layout display, with text. At least I did use some of the knowledge I gained from the food photography class I had earlier this year.

Oh yeah, credits to Laureen whom I randomly found her recipe on the net for this healthy choc chip nestum cookies. Those who doesn't have sweet tooth gonna love these cookies... no white sugar used, just brown sugar and some honey. You can view her recipe here:
http://eatandbehappy.wordpress.com/2007/03/05/chocolate-chip-nestum-cookies-2/#comment-1135

But I suggest you to eliminate the salt or just add a pinch cause mine taste a lil' bit salty. Other than that all are great. Watch the cooking time too as I believe it differ from oven to oven. I had to bake mine 6-10 minutes instead of 12-15 as recommended.

Well, enjoy! :-D ...oh, C&amp;C are welcomed on the photography.

<title>Let's make some oatmeal cookies!</title>
<description>Yes! after quite sometime "resting" from taking any 'intentional photographs' (excluding snapshots of holidays or so)...I finally manage to beat the lazy bug today by having yet another set of baking pictures!!! Thanks to Chef Nizam because after seeing what he did on his blog http://sayasukamasak.wordpress.com/, taking pictures of food that he cooked and share them on the blog, including recipes!! Chef Nizam loves photography, I'm almost certain that he loves cooking for fun, and he channel that into his blog. Me? lazing around doing nothing...

Well, thanks to raya holiday boredom too, it contributes in this particular baking photoshoot...well, unlike other families who always welcome raya aidilfitri holiday, and busy-ing themselves preparing for Syawal, my family tend to set back and relax during Raya Hols...practically we didn't celebrate much - thus the boredom...hehe, whatever it is, this is what I did today :-D

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, get your recipe here:
http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Beths-Spicy-Oatmeal-Raisin-Cookies/Detail.aspx

joting down the recipe from the net

Sift flour, baking soda, salt

Beat butter and shortening

Add brown and white sugar

Beat 'em up

Add eggs

and vanilla

Beat until smooth

Add flour, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon and ground cloves

Mix them until fully combines, see the texture?

Add raisins and rolled oats

Stir 'em up

Drop onto cooking tray

Bake 'em in the oven...

Ting! The cookies are done! Eat 'em up!

<title>Kekecewaan saya....</title>
<description>

I'm frustrated.
I'm sad.
But I do have some points.

1. I didn't send my application late. The staff said there's no deadline.

2. I went to see the officer in charged on June 9, 2008 to check the progress. He said it's in process because all the big bosses are outstation and a decision could not be made without them. Isn't it funny that the letter is dated June 9, 2008 as well? $-)

3. The course is MSc in Biological Photography and Imaging. Yes. It is not critical, but it is important and needed.

4. I've got a 25% scholarship from the university+commonwealth and need another 75% (convert to pounds it's a lot of money - say: RM100 000)....anyone willing to donate? :-D </description>

<title>Food Photography</title>
<description>Went for a food photography class last Sunday, 18th May 2008. The teacher was Azhar Ariff http://azharariff.fotopages.com/.

It was a fun and very informative class for beginners like me. Learned some basic about food photography, what type of food photography are there, how you should compose your shots, lighting, props etc. Overall, I would definitely recommend this class for beginners who are interested. You can contact Azhar for more info.

Anyways, here are some of my shots...oh yeah, we had to shoot in RAW, so this is also my first time post processing RAW images which I feel very useful as I get more flexibility in terms of adjusting the exposure and other stuff I can't do in JPEG images. Thumbs up again to the teacher for enlightening me:P.

However, post-processing RAW are quite time consuming too as they took me some time to select the shots and do the editing (which explains why I post this a week after the class :p).

Do excuse me on the colours, huhu, I found out that when I'm editing with my laptop at home, the colour will be quite dull and I can't really see if I'm overdoing it or what. Some of the images with ok colours were edited using my office's PC. Whatever it is, just leave your comments and critics, still lots to improve on my photography skills..(dang! it's been a year) $-)

note: there were 5 dishes, each were taken either at f2.8 or f11 in a white tent, or at f16 with props on a table.

macaroni, f16
